Gene on the Set
Whenever Gene visited the set of ST:TNG, it was a special moment for the crew. It wasn't a question of "Captain on the Bridge!" -- he would usually sit quietly and enjoy observing the work of people he trusted. A tall, personalized director's chair with side pockets for his script was kept at the ready. During "down time," Gene was very approachable; he was always happy to listen to an idea or suggestion from anyone -- even the person sweeping the floors. Usually, Richard Arnold or I would accompany him to the stage, driving him in his personal electric golf cart. In this photo (circa late 1990 or early 1991), we both happened to be with Gene, so he called over a photog, who captured this rare shot of the three of us
