Gene's Gliding Day
Gene had been a licensed pilot since his Pan Am days in the late 1940s, following his experience as a World War II fighter pilot. The man was practically born with wings. But nothing could have prepared him for the sheer joy and freedom of gliding, or "soaring," as its aficionados call it. Here, after several flights aloft in the "Grob" glider, he's all grins. Many thanks to our good friend Doug Perrenod of NASA for this adventure, which you can read about in Log Entry 12!
